Hawa Sawaneh: Gambian Nursing Student and Miss Caricom Foundation Member
Hawa Sawaneh, a 26-year-old Gambian woman born on January 20th, 1998, is making strides in the healthcare field. As a final-year nursing student at the American International University West Africa (AIUWA), she’s currently gaining valuable experience through an internship at Kanifing General Hospital while completing her thesis.
Hawa’s dedication extends beyond her studies. As a member of the Miss Caricom Foundation Gambia chapter, she aligns herself with an organization dedicated to empowering rural populations, particularly women. The foundation’s local partnerships with NGOs provide a platform for Hawa to contribute her growing medical expertise through outreach programs in The Gambia.
